Copsegrove heading into the Autumn!

Hello everyone!

September has rolled around again rather rapidly, and Autumn is once again on our doorsteps. We hope you have all enjoyed some lazy days in the sunshine through August at some point, and that the return to the old school routines for those of you with little people, has not been too much of a shock to the system.

We have recently returned home from some time away in Pembrokeshire to a particularly parched set of fields, but the cattle are well and devouring large bales of this Summer’s hay harvest contentedly, albeit way too early for Martin’s liking!

The squirrels are getting busy on our lane hoarding early conkers from the slightly meagre looking crop from some decidedly withered-looking Chestnuts. Meanwhile, our permanently ravenous labradors have begun to nibble tentatively at the brambles, gorging on any juicy blackberries they can snaffle, before being spotted by us whilst out for a walk!

Here’s what’s going on at Copsegrove this Autumn, if you fancy something lovely to look forward to as summer draws to an end.

Boss Morris 2025 at Copsegrove

The Autumn Equinox with the fabulous Boss Morris!

We are thrilled and excited to be welcoming back our very special guests, the Boss girls, to take over the courtyard on Wednesday 23rd September and help us celebrate the balance of light and dark. An unforgettable night of merry making is planned to mark the end of this particularly long hot summer full of sunshine, and welcome in the Autumn with it’s crisp fresh, mornings, and it’s nights beginning to draw in.

We have a really exciting evening planned, with uplifting music and dancing from Boss Morris, delicious fire cooked food from Ian Ballantyne which will celebrate some of our local harvest, (see menu below!)

There will also be a poignant ceremonial burning of a giant golden globe in the paddock, the design of which has been challenging Martin’s grey matter through August, and it’s building soon to commence with help from the legendary local master welder Martyn Little! What could possibly go wrong?

Relaxed, and informal, with heaps of hay bales to perch on whilst sipping a drink, devouring some tasty food, and soaking up the Boss magic and energy as dusk descends, with a rare and special opportunity to learn and have a go perhaps at a “double step” and “Caper” with the Boss girls!

It will be our final hurrah in the courtyard, before we hunker down back inside the barn and light the fire again for our Winter feasts. We hope so much you may be able to come and join us and Boss Morris for an Equinox celebration to remember!

Ian’s wonderful menu!

Copsegrove Sound Bath

Wednesday 7th October 2pm-4.30pm

If you are looking for something a little more peaceful to lift and feed your soul as the seasons change, this may be for you!

We are delighted to be welcoming the return of lovely Angie Latham from Sacred Earth Sound Therapy, who will be delivering another very special Gong bath for those wishing to enjoy the beautiful sounds of the gongs and other instruments, and deeply relax in such a lovely old building. The barn has proven to generate a very beautiful acoustic that will make this a gong bath like no other!

All you need to do is lie back, relax, and let the beautiful sounds and surroundings work their magic!

At the end, there will be tea and homemade cake and flapjacks, and a chance to mingle gently for those of you that feel like it, before you float home, feeling fully restored and revitalised!

There are only 18 places available, so do be quick in booking your place if you would like to join us. Reserve your space here!

Our Copsegrove barn is the perfect setting!

A Celebration of local Harvest – Our Copsegrove Food Mile feast– Friday October 16th

This feast sees a return to our lovely traditional feast evenings, where we cosy up inside the beautiful old barn, with the giant fire stoked, the tables long and sociable, so that platters of scrumptious food and conversations can be shared with friends, both old and new.

We shall celebrate Harvest time, and particularly the wonderful local produce we are so fortunate to be able to enjoy, with our very special Copsegrove "Food Mile" feast, where we challenge ourselves to put on a feast created from as much gorgeous local and seasonal produce as possible, from within just a single mile of the farm boundaries (Chef Ian included)!

Talented Ian Ballantyne will create a resplendent feast showcasing bothCopsegrove Welsh black Beef and Venison, alongside freshly harvested vegetables grown and supplied by Ashley Dickenson from the Bisley Farm Shop. We shall be busy in September and early October foraging for as many berries and other fruits from our hedgerows and trees that we can find to accompany each course, to make it a truly deliciously sumptuous spread of local goodies, sweetened with dollops of honey from our Copsegrove hives where required!

You will arrive, and head to the Bull Pen bar for a welcome drink and a mingle. Once the bells have rung, expect generous chunks of Ian's delicious homemade bread, that can be dunked in tasty and indulgent Copsegrove Beef tallow to wet your appetite as you sit down ...let the feast commence - one not to be missed!

Ian is still dreaming up the perfect Autumnal menu to tickle all our taste buds, but vegetables served will be dependent on what is available locally the week of the feast.

There will of course be a Vegetarian menu for those who may prefer one!

🎟️ Tickets!

And that’s it from me…!

Wishing you all a peaceful transition in to the Autumn, with the opportunity to enjoy the sunshine for as long as it decides to appear!

A huge thank you for your support of Copsegrove, and we hope to see you soon!
